Valley Neuro/Microneurosurgery, S.C.

What To Expect During Your First Visit With Us
  • When you arrive at our office, please register with our receptionist. They will review the paperwork that you have completed, and make copies of your insurance information. Any copies or disks of x-rays or MRI's should also be given the receptionist at that time. If you have questions regarding the paperwork, the receptionist will be happy to answer them for you.
  • The first step of your appointment is a meeting with Dr. Paul in his office. Dr. Paul will review the health information that you have provided, discuss your condition/problem and concerns with you. He will also review any x-rays or MRI's that have already been done. Dr. Paul's nurse will generally be in the office for this discussion as well.
  • The next step is a physical examination. This is done in our exam room, and the nurse will take your vitals first. This examination will focus on your concerns that your are asking Dr. Paul to address. If Dr. Paul notes any additional problems (elevated blood pressure, etc.) he will refer you to your family doctor for further evaluation of that concern.

  • When the examination is done, you will be asked to return to Dr. Paul's office for further discussion, or to return to the reception desk to schedule additional appointments and/or testing.
  • If additional tests are needed, the office staff will ask you additional questions that may be needed and then they will do the necessary pre-authorization with your insurance company and schedule the testing.

Please feel free to discuss any questions or concerns that you may have. We encourage you to ask for clarification of any information that is discussed and that you don't understand. Dr. Paul or his nurse are more than happy to provide further information or explanation. We want to provide the best individualized care that we can for you.

You are welcome to bring a spouse, family member, or friend with you to your appointment if you would like. They are welcome to come into Dr. Paul's office with you for your appointment.
